Who are these worksheets for?

This pack is suitable for learners aged 11 to 13 years old or 7th to 8th graders (USA). The content covers fact files and relevant basic and advanced activities involving scientific notations.

What is US Election Day?

In the US, we vote for senators and congress people every two years on the first Tuesday after the first Monday in November. And every four years, elections become bigger as voters pick the next president at this time. This year, the US Election Day falls on November 8, 2022.

What is Scientific notation?

Scientific notation is a way of simplifying the writing of big and small numbers by using a power of ten so that they would be easier to read.

Coefficient: This should be a number with an absolute value greater than or equal to 1 but less than 10. It should include all significant digits of the number.

Base: The base number is always 10.

Exponent: A positive or negative number that represents the number of decimal places moved to form the final coefficient.
