What is Winter Solstice?

The Winter Solstice (on December 22, 2022), sometimes called the hibernal solstice, is one of two times a year when the Sun is at its southernmost position in the Northern Hemisphere and its northernmost point in the Southern Hemisphere. This event brings the least daylight and the longest darkness since the Sun is at its lowest point.
