Definition:
In math, a number line can be defined as a straight line with numbers placed at equal intervals or segments along its length. A number line can be extended infinitely in any direction and is usually represented horizontally. A number ladder is the vertical version of a number line.
Summary:
Number lines can be used to do addition and subtraction of simple numbers.
In adding numbers, the direction of movement is to the right. When subtracting numbers, move to the left with reference to the value of second number.
