This worksheet will assist you to learn more about 3-digit numbers. More specifically, comparing them using words and symbols. This contains fact files and relevant activities to sharpen your skills.

SYMBOL OF EQUALITY =
The equal symbol is used to represent equality. Equality means that the two quantities are exactly the same. 

SYMBOLS OF INEQUALITY <>

  • greater than > The greater than symbol is used to represent inequality. Inequality means that the two quantities are not the same. When using greater than, a quantity is bigger than the other quantity.
  • less than < The less than symbol is used to represent inequality. Inequality means that the two quantities are not the same.  When using less than, a quantity is smaller than the other quantity.

Example:

117 > 108
117 is greater than 108.
