National Flag Day has come again! It is celebrated every year on the 14th of June, the day Americans honor the national flag and its meaning. It also commemorates the date when the design of the national flag was approved in 1777.
What is Subtracting Billions?
Subtraction is an operation used to take away a number from another number. In this type of operation, you will encounter words such as deduct, take away, decreased by, and minus.
- The minuend cannot be interchanged with the subtrahend. The difference is not equal if the two are interchanged.
- It is helpful to remember that when 0 is subtracted from a number, the difference is equal to the number itself.
- Subtracting a number from itself gives a difference of 0.
