Definition:

As the old saying goes, “Time is gold.” That is why understanding time is very important so we can use it wisely. This worksheet will help you to learn about time using analog and digital clocks.

WHAT IS TIME?

Time is the ongoing sequence of events taking place. The past, present and future.
The basic unit of time is the second. It can also be expressed in minutes, hours, days, weeks, months, and years. We can measure time using clocks.

Summary:

A clock is a device used to tell time. It can be an analog or a digital clock.

ANALOG CLOCK

  • HOUR HAND – The shorter hand that refers to hours.
  • MINUTE HAND – The longer hand that indicates minutes.
  • SECOND HAND – The hand that points to seconds.

DIGITAL CLOCK

  • HOUR NUMBERS – These are numbers from 1-12 or 1-24 to tell the hour of a time.
  • MINUTE NUMBERS – These are numbers from 0- 60 to tell the minute of a time.

A.M, or P.M?

Do you have an idea what a.m. or p.m. means? A.M. means ante meridiem. A Latin word for “before noon.” P.M. means post meridiem. A Latin word for “after noon.”
