Definition
Radian measure is a way of measuring angles based on the relationship between an angle and the radius of a circle. An angle is measured in radians by comparing the length of the arc it intercepts on a circle to the radius of that circle. One radian is defined as the measure of an angle that intercepts an arc equal in length to the radius of the circle.
Summary
Radian measure provides a natural and mathematically convenient way to describe angles, especially in trigonometry and calculus. A full circle measures 2π radians, which is equivalent to 360∘, and a half circle measures radians or 180∘. Unlike degree measure, radian measure directly connects angles to circular motion and arc length, making formulas involving trigonometric functions, arc length, and sector area simpler and more consistent.
