Definition

Converting percents to fractions means expressing a percentage as a fraction of a whole. Since percent means “per hundred,” any percent can first be written as a fraction with a denominator of 100 and then simplified when possible. For example, 25% = 25/100 = 1/4, and 60% = 60/100 = 3/5.
