A fraction represents a part of a whole or, in general, any number of equal parts while division is the process a of distributing a group of things or numbers into equal parts.

## Summary:

**Numerator **– represents how many parts of that whole are being considered.**Denominator** – represents the total number of parts created from the whole.**Eight-thirds** is an improper fraction. Instead, it should be **two and two-thirds.**
