A cross-section is the shape you get when you slice a pyramid with a plane. The resulting shape depends on how and where the pyramid is cut.
Common cross-sections include triangles, squares, or other polygons. For example, slicing parallel to the base of a square pyramid gives a smaller square, while slicing through the apex often creates a triangle.
The shape changes based on the angle and position of the cut. A horizontal cut (parallel to the base) produces a similar shape to the base, while a slanted or vertical cut can produce different polygon shapes.
