Discovery of Abacus

Abacus is an instrument consisting of rows of movable beads or similar objects strung on a wire representing digits for performing calculations by sliding counters along rods or in grooves.
It was said to be invented in ancient Babylon between 300 to 500 BCE. Abacus was the first counting machine. Sumerians used the first abacus to count. It is believed that Old Babylonian scholars have used this abacus to do addition and subtraction.
